Deadline, nudges and ending the vote

These are for admins. Everyone can see the deadline and who’s voted.

The voting deadline

The Voting Deadline card on the jaunt’s main page shows:

• the deadline date and how many days are left (red when it’s 5 days or fewer)
• Where, When and Stay, with how many people have voted on each, or Decided

Try it. This is a sample: nothing is saved.

Set a deadline

1. Open the jaunt.
2. On the Voting Deadline card, turn on Setup deadline.
3. Pick a date and tap Save.

Change or remove it

1. On the Voting Deadline card, tap the pencil.
2. To change it, pick a new date. To remove it, switch off Turn off deadline.
3. Tap Save.

What happens on the deadline day

By then	What happens
Where, When and Stay each have at least one vote (or were decided)	Voting ends by itself. The options in the lead become the plan
Something has no votes yet	Voting stays open. Everyone gets one text saying voting closes today, and the card turns red with “1 day overdue”

If it’s overdue, an admin can nudge people, end voting, or set a new date.

Nudge people who haven’t voted

Each vote has a Voters card showing “2 of 5 voted” and who hasn’t.

Try it. This is a sample: nothing is saved.

1. Tap the ✋ on the Voters card.
2. Everyone who hasn’t voted gets a text, like:

Hi Jack, you haven’t voted yet on where to go for “Barcelona weekend”. Open the Jaunt app to sort it!

You can nudge each person once an hour. If it’s too soon, Jaunt tells you how long to wait.

When everyone’s voted, the card says Everyone has voted.

End voting early

You don’t have to wait for the deadline.

1. On the Voting Deadline card, tap the pencil. If there’s no deadline yet, skip this: the button is already there.
2. Tap End voting.
3. Confirm: “End voting now? Members will no longer be able to vote or make changes.”

End voting only shows once Where, When and Stay each have at least one vote, or were decided.

After voting ends

• Each winning option gets a Winner chip.
• Votes show Closed, and no one can vote or add options.
• On Stay, only the winning place stays open. Other places are view only.
• The jaunt moves from Voting to Happening on everyone’s home page.

Reopen voting

1. On the Voting Deadline card, tap the pencil.
2. Turn on Reset deadline and pick a new date.
3. Tap Save.

Voting opens again, with everyone’s votes still there.

If something goes wrong

You see	What it means
No pencil on the Voting Deadline card	Only admins can change it. Ask an admin
No End voting button	Something still has no votes. Check Where, When and Stay
“Voting can’t end yet”	Same: one of the votes is empty
“You can nudge again in 40 minutes”	You nudged them less than an hour ago
